Leading Tamil actor Dhanush has extended his wishes to Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth for her return to film-making with her 'Payani' music video on Thursday. The two-time National Award winner took to Twitter and congratulated Aishwaryaa for directing the music video, which has also been released in Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam languages under different titles. Dhanush, who himself turned director with Pa. Paandi in 2017, tweeted his wishes to Aishwaryaa, while addressing her as his "friend". This is the first public interaction between Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth and Dhanush after they announced their separation this January. The former couple, who were married for 18 years, had released a statement announcing their split, which left many fans shocked and sad. Post their separation, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have been busy with their upcoming film commitments and each of them is currently attached to a number of projects. The music video for 'Payani' has been directed by Aishwaryaa, who made her filmmaking debut with 3 (2012) and Vai Raja Vai (2015), and is her comeback to film-making after a gap of five years when she last made the documentary film Cinema Veeran (2017).

'Payani' has been composed by Ankit Tiwari and sung by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, with lyrics written by Viveka and was launched by 'Superstar' Rajinikanth earlier today. Conceptualized and directed by Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth under the Bay Films banner, popular choreographer Jani Master and Shrasti Verma are featured in the music video and has been presented by Kumar Taurani and Prerna V Arora.
