Dhanush, who was seen in two contrastingly different characters in his last two films, Asuran and Enai Noki Paayum Thota, will now gear up for the release of Pattas, his next outing in Tamil cinema. Directed by Durai Senthilkumar of Ethir Neechal and Kodi fame, Pattas is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films and this is the esteemed production house’s next film after the blockbuster success Viswasam starring Ajith. The first single from the film, ‘Chill Bro’ is a chartbuster number already and it has gone viral among the fans and on social media.
Following the success of that, the makers have now announced the film’s theatrical release date and it has totally excited the fans. This Dhanush starrer will release on January 16, one week after the release of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar. We had already reported that Pattas will release for Pongal and as informed, the news has now become official. Apart from the newly announced Pattas, Mirchi Shiva’s Sumo, Sasikumar’s MGR Magan and Prabhu Deva’s Pon Manickavel are also targetting a Pongal 2020 release.
Along with the release date announcement, the makers have also released the film’s motion poster which is filled with mass and energy. We have already seen the younger Dhanush look through the first look poster and the ‘Chill Bro’ song and it is now time to see the older Dhanush. He sports a rugged look with beard and moustache and it looks like he plays a local fighter who practices old martial art forms.
This motion poster is backed by some energetic music from Vivek - Mervin. The promo video has been released on the official Youtube channel of Sathya Jyothi Films. Dhanush will be seen in dual roles in Pattas, one as a father and another as a son. While Sneha will pair the older version of Dhanush, Mehreen Pirzada will play the love interest of the younger Dhanush. Gear up to witness Pattas on the big screens from January 16 for Pongal and ahead of that, catch the motion poster here:
