Blockbuster Tamil film producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu's Naane Varuvean is releasing worldwide in theatres on Thursday, September 29, and the cinema stalwart recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta to talk about the various aspects of the film and its release. The excitement for the Dhanush-starrer directed by Selvaraghavan and featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is at an all-time high and will open in around 750 screens in Tamil Nadu. Addressing rumors about Naane Varuvean apparently securing a "low screen count" in comparison to Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan: 1, producer Thanu said, "The screens are split up for everyone to release their films. For example, when Veeram and Jilla came out together, the screens were split up, right? It was the same for Petta and Viswasam. If you look at the Diwali releases next month, Prince and Sardar, the screens will be split up for the films to release. My only request is that this need not be exaggerated unnecessarily."

Kalaipuli S. Thanu's latest statement will no doubt come as a huge reassurance for fans, who will be looking forward to witnessing Dhanush in action in Naane Varuvean on the big screen after his family entertainer, Thiruchitrambalam, released in August and has since become a box office blockbuster. The buzz surrounding the upcoming film has been huge ever since the project went on floors as the Dhanush, Selvaraghavan, and Yuvan trio is the biggest USP and fans are gearing up to see the magic of their reunion once again after more than a decade.

Dhanush, who is spearheading the cast of Naane Varuvean, will be appearing in dual roles and share screen space with Indhuja Ravichandran of Meyaadha Maan and Bigil fame and Swedish-Greek actress Elli AvrRam, who are the female leads, followed by the supporting cast featuring veteran actor Prabhu and comedian Yogi Babu, while Selvaraghavan is playing a major supporting role.
