Dhanush recently received his second National Film Award for Best Actor for his outstanding performance as Sivasaamy in Vetri Maaran's Asuran. The visuals of Dhanush receiving the National Film Award from the Vice President of India had gone viral on social media. Following the National Award ceremony, Dhanush and his family returned to Chennai along with producer Kalaippuli S Thanu and director Vetri Maaran. After coming out of the airport, Dhanush addressed the press and media and thanked the audience and fans for their love towards Asuran.

He also expressed his happiness about getting the National Award for the second time and thanked his good friend and director Vetri Maaran for the same. When one of the reporters asked Dhanush on the status of Vada Chennai 2, Dhanush had an interesting reply. On a light-hearted note, Dhanush said, "Tell Vetri that I also asked him about it". The short clipping of Dhanush responding about Vada Chennai 2 has grabbed the attention of the fans and it has been doing good rounds on social media since this morning.

Vetri Maaran and Dhanush have collaborated together on 4 projects - Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai, and Asuran and all the four films have earned both critical acclaim and commercial success. Ever since Vada Chennai released, the fans have been waiting to witness the sequel of the film that will showcase the rise of Anbu, the character played by Dhanush. Vada Chennai 2 was supposed to happen after Vada Chennai but since the canvas of the film was large, Vetri Maaran wanted to take a break and the duo later made Asuran.

Currently, both Vetri Maaran and Dhanush are highly busy with their respective commitments and it looks like the fans will have to wait for a few more years to see Vada Chennai 2 materialize. For now, check out Dhanush's latest reply about Vada Chennai 2 here:
