Marvel fans are losing their minds after it was confirmed that Hugh Jackman will be a part of the cast of Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 as everyone’s favorite mutant Wolverine. A video was released by the film's titular hero Ryan Reynolds himself along with a caption that read, "Hard keeping my mouth sewn shut about this one. ⚔️ #Deadpool ". He spills the beans on the latest update about the film which ended up being a biggie.

In the video, Ryan goes on to say, "I've had to really search my soul on this one. His first appearance in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) obviously needs to feel special. We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, and meaning. Every ‘Deadpool’ needs to stand out and stand apart. It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside. And I…I have nothing. Yeah, just completely empty up here. And terrifying. But we did have one idea."

There is a pause and we see Hugh Jackman walk by in the background. At that time, Ryan asks him, "Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?", to which Jackman replies saying, "Yeah, sure, Ryan". The video ends with Whitney Houston’s 'I Will Always Love You' subtitled as 'I will always love Hugh'. Then the Deadpool logo appears which is swiftly sliced up by Wolverine’s adamantium claws. The video ends with '9.6.24' written on the screen implying that the film will be released on 6 September 2024.

This is the first time Hugh Jackman will be portraying the character since James Mangold’s 2017 film Logan. He hung up his claws after playing the Wolverine in Logan as he famously died at the end of the film, prompting Jackman to say that the film was his farewell. Jackman last played the Wolverine opposite Reynolds' Deadpool in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine
