At a time when the entire world is racing against time to identify a cure or a vaccine for the deadly COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic, there seems to be some good news from Singapore! A study has been conducted by a group of health experts and a joint research paper has been released by Singapore's National Centre for Infectious Diseases and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. This research says that the COVID-19 Virus could not be isolated or cultured from a patient, after 11 days of being infected. Thus, they have stated that COVID-19 patients are no longer infectious after 11 days of being affected, though some of them may still test positive for the Virus!

COVID-19 patients not infectious after 11 days - Health Experts!

This paper was released based on a study of 73 COVID patients in Singapore! The main result of the research has been that a positive test does not equate to infectiousness or viable virus. This may have major implications on the country's patient discharge policy as currently, this is being based on negative test results, rather than infectiousness. As per latest reports, over 45% of Singapore's corona virus infected patients have been treated and discharged from hospitals and community treatment facilities. The country is planning to reopen pre-schools from June 2nd and hence is actively screening all pre-school staff.
