Dhanush is currently shooting for his Telugu - Tamil bilingual movie, Sir (Vaathi in Tamil) which is directed by Venky Atluri of Tholi Prema and Rang De fame. The film marks Dhanush's debut in Telugu cinema and the fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing the film soon. Produced by Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas, the film has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, marking the composer's continued association with Dhanush after Asuran and Maaran. Dinesh Krishnan of Kanaa fame, who was signed as the cinematographer, has, unfortunately, walked out of the project and his exit has come as a shock for the fans.

Dinesh Krishnan seems to have tested positive for Covid 19 and since he has to be on quarantine for a few days, he has opted out of the film, so that the shoot doesn't get delayed. The fans have sent their warm wishes to Dinesh Krishnan to recover from the infection and get back in action soon. Sharing the news with everyone, Dinesh Krishnan wrote on his Twitter page, "It is unfortunate that I couldn’t be a part of @dhanushkraja’s #vaathi #SIRmovie Hoping to work soon with @Fortune4Cinemas @SitharaEnts @vamsi84 #venkyatluri. #covid".

This unexpected change has garnered a wide buzz on social media and it looks like a new cinematographer will be assigned the responsibility. Details regarding the new DOP are yet to be known. Vaathi / Sir features Samyuktha Menon playing the female lead and it marks her debut in Tamil cinema. The refreshing pair of Dhanush and Samyuktha is one of the interesting aspects of Vaathi which is said to deal with the problems that happen in the educational industry. Director Venky Atluri has become a promising filmmaker with two commercially successful romantic films - Tholi Prema and Rang De and we will have to see what the talented filmmaker has in store with Vaathi / Sir. The film is expected to hit the screens towards the end of this year and an official word regarding the same is awaited.
