National Award-winning Tamil actor Vikram has tested positive with mild Covid-19 symptoms and is currently in isolation at his home. Lovingly called as 'Chiyaan' by fans, the actor had reportedly been experiencing fatigue and went for a medical checkup at a private hospital in Chennai. With the news gathering steam, Vikram's manager took to social media on Thursday to inform fans that there is nothing to worry and that the Covid symptoms are very mild, while also extending his gratitude to fans for their prayers on behalf of the actor. On the work front, Vikram was recently announced to be joining hands with blockbuster acclaimed director Pa. Ranjith for the tentatively titled Chiyaan 61 being produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green banner. The shooting on Chiyaan 61 has been revealed to kick-off soon, with the rest of the cast and crew details also expected to be announced in the days ahead. Vikram, who was last seen in the 2019 action thriller Kadaram Kondan produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International banner, will be looking to come back roaring after his recovery from Covid-19. 

As for his upcoming projects, Vikram is shooting for his Cobra, which is in its final leg of filming, with the patch portions expected to be shot next. Being directed by Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal fame Ajay Gnanamuthu under Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios banner, the action thriller features the Tamil superstar opposite KGF heroine Srinidhi Shetty and includes music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. Vikram also has in his lineup the highly-anticipated Mahaan, which will see him alongside his son Dhruv under Karthik Subbaraj's direction. The film has created a massive buzz among fans as it will see the father-son duo sharing screen space for the first time together, with expectations that it will be a cracker of an entertainer. 

Vikram has also reunited with ace director Mani Ratnam's for his ambitious epic historical fiction film, Ponniyin Selvan, which is coming out in two installments. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies banner, the first part of Ponniyin Selvan has been announced to hit screens worldwide as a 2022 release and includes Vikram alongside leading stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, who form the prime cast. An adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy's Ponniyin Selvan novel, the film also includes music by A. R. Rahman, with the team expected to come out with a line of announcements as the days progress. 

And, last but not the least, Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram is also awaiting its release and has kept fans quite excited with its teasers and promos that have come out so far. The spy thriller film directed by Gautham Menon and featuring music by Harris Jayaraj also stars actresses Ritu Varma and Aishwarya Rajesh as the female leads, with Simran, Parthiepan, Raadhika Sarathkumar among others cast in pivotal roles.
