'Chiyaan' Vikram and his son Dhruv are sharing screen space together for the first time in Mahaan directed by blockbuster filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. The upcoming action thriller produced by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio has been generating massive hype ever since it went on floors and all sights are now set on its release plans, with the Petta director on Friday on the festive occasion of Pongal delighting fans to an important update. Taking to social media, Karthik Subbaraj informed fans that Maahan is ready and has been "delivered" while adding that it will be released soon. He tweeted, "Wish you all a Happy Pongal 🙏🏼🙏🏼🎉🎉  Our film #Mahaan is all ready and delivered..... Will be released very Soon..... Can't wait to show the film to you all.... Release updates and Promotions on the way Sooner!"

For a while now, speculations have been rife stating that Maahan will be skipping a theatrical release and instead head for a direct premiere on a leading OTT streaming platform. Despite no official statement yet from the makers regarding any release plans as such, these latest words from Karthik Subbaraj, which includes the term "delivered" could be a hint. Based on the latest update, we can expect an official release date for the film to be announced in the coming days and the team will be looking to present the film in all its grandeur. As of now, the new Maahan release update has come as joyous news for National Award-winning actor Vikram's fans, who are waiting to witness him in action on the big screen once again and this time alongside his son Dhruv, who became a sensation after his thumping performance in Adithya Varma. Maahan is currently one of the most-awaited films in recent times as it also includes actress Simran and Vani Bhojan cast as the female leads, with composer Santhosh Narayanan once again joining hands with Karthik Subbaraj after their previous successful collaborations. Apart from the lead stars, Maahan also includes Bobby Simha, Sananth, Deepak Paramesh, Muthukumar, among others in pivotal roles, while the technical team has names like cinematographer Shreyaas Krishna and editor Vivek Harshan.
