Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies seems to be in no mood for a break. The esteemed production and distribution firm is in raging form, constantly acquiring mega biggies in regular intervals. Starting the business for this year with Suriya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Red Giant Movies presented star vehicle films like Prabhas' Radhe Shyam, Thalapathy Vijay's Beast, Vijay Sethupathi's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Sivakarthikeyan's Don, Kamal Haasan's Vikram, and the upcoming Madhavan starrer Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Among the lot, Vikram emerged to be the biggest ever hit and is running with packed houses even in its fourth week.

That being said, Red Giant Movies has officially announced its next big venture and here are the details about it. Udhayanidhi Stalin has acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical distribution rights of Chiyaan Vikram's highly-anticipated action thriller, Cobra, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal fame. The announcement was made through an official tweet from Red Giant Movies and it read, "Thrilled to announce that #RedGiantMovies have acquired the Tamil Nadu Theatrical Distribution rights for #ChiyaanVikram’s #Cobra 🎉 SAVE THE DATE ➡️ #CobraFromAugust11 🥁 #CobraWithRedGiantMovies @7screenstudio @Udhaystalin @ajaygnan @arrahman @irfan @srinidhi @kalaignartv_off".

Now that Red Giant Movies has come into the picture, one can be confident of Cobra's wide release across the state. Cobra will be releasing in theatres on August 11. Produced by SS Lalit Kumar under the banner of 7 Screen Studios, the film has music composed by the legendary A.R.Rahman who has already delivered two chartbuster hit singles - 'Thumbi Thullal' and 'Adheeraa'. Cobra features KGF 2 sensation Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead while former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan will be making his acting debut with this one. Irfan is said to have played a negative character.

KS Ravikumar, Miya George, Mirnalini Ravi, Roshan Matthew, Anandaraj, and others play supporting roles.
