Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra which was initially supposed to hit the screens on August 11 was eventually postponed since the post-production works were still in process. The new release date of the film has now been announced and here is what you need to know. It has been announced that the film will hit the screens on August 31 marking the festive occasion of Vinayakar Chaturthi. Cobra will be released in three languages - Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. The film will be presented by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies who will be ensuring the smooth release of Cobra across a wide range of screens.

Cobra will be Chiyaan Vikram's first theatrical release after the Covid 19 pandemic and the fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing their favourite star on the big screen. August 31 seems to be an interesting date indeed and the film is expected to take a very good opening at the box office. Pa Ranjith's Natchathiram Nagargiradhu and Mysskin's Pisasu 2 are the other movies that are scheduled to release on the same day - August 31. Produced by SS Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studios, the film will have music composed by A.R.Rahman and the legendary composer's work is going to be one of the major highlights. The film is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of Imaikkaa Nodigal and Demonte Colony fame and has cinematography handled by Harish Kannan.

Bhuvan Srinivasan and Dhilip Subbarayan have taken care of the editing and stunt choreography departments respectively. Cobra will feature Srinidhi Shetty of KGF 2 fame as the female lead and this will mark her debut in Tamil cinema. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan will be making his acting debut with Cobra and he is said to have played a negative character. Mirnalini Ravi, Roshan Matthew, Miya George, KS Ravikumar, and others form the supporting cast.
