Popular Malayalam actor Rafi, best known among fans for playing the character Sumesh on the Flowers TV sitcom Chakkappazham, tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Maheena on Monday. The wedding ceremony was a gala affair and was held as per Muslim wedding rituals, with family members, close friends, well-wishers, and their colleagues from the Malayalam entertainment industry gracing the occasion. Rafi looked dashing in a navy blue suit, while the bride Maheena was her gorgeous best in a dark green lehenga. Sharing the first photo of themselves on Instagram as a couple, Rafi wrote, "My happiness, My Mahe Mol". Check it out below:
Rafi and Maheena's wedding saw several popular names from the Malayalam television industry wishing the couple in person. Joining their dear Sumesh on his big day were the actor's Chakkappazham co-stars Vishnu, Aswathy Sreekanth, Arjun Somashekar, Haritha, Amal Rajdev, child artistes Aryan, Sadhika, including actors who left the show midway. The popular Malayalam stars were seen entertaining the guests with a dance performance that also included the newly-married couple shaking their feet to the 'Oru Ponnu Onnu Naan Paarthen' song from the 'Thalapathy' Vijay and Jyothika blockbuster Kushi. Posting a picture with Rafi and Maheena, actress Aswathy Sreekanth wrote, "Happy Married life Sumeeee".Likewise, Rafi's on-screen mother Sabitta posed with the happy couple and said, "May your married life be filled with unconditional love and pure bliss fueled by mutual understanding. Love you both dearly."
Rafi, who plays the character Sumesh on Chakkappazham, has garnered a huge fan following among the young and the elderly alike for his sense of humor and energetic screen presence. Having been awarded the Kerala State TV award for the Second-Best Actor on Chakkappazham, he has also forayed into the web series space and went on to recently announce that he has a new show in the making titled Night Shift. Rafi had struggled to make it to the heights he has reached now prior to his starring in Chakkappazham and was working at construction sites and several other jobs to make ends meet.
