The shooting of Vadivelu’s Naai Sekar is all set to go on floors soon. Written and directed by Suraaj, the film stars 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu, who is making his comeback after 4 long years. The upcoming film is a spin-off of Vadivelu's character in Suraaj's 2006 blockbuster, Thalai Nagaram, and is being produced by Lyca Productions, with the pre-production works currently progressing in full swing.

In that light, the team has announced a new addition to the film's cast and is none other than Shivani Narayanan, who became a household name after Bigg Boss Tamil season four. The youth sensation actress is more than happy to have landed this role as she took to her personal Instagram account to announce the big news and posted a picture standing next to Vadivelu along with a caption that read, "From seeing my memes and trolls with his pictures to sharing screen space with him. Happy to be associated with @lyca_productions for Naai Sekar Returns acting alongside The Legendary Actor Vadivelu sir #thalaivanreturns #naaisekarreturns".

Naai Sekar Returns is yet another biggie for Shivani, who is also a part of Kamal Haasan's magnum opus Vikram, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, and has been directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. She will also been in a pivotal role in an Vijay Sethupathi film being directed by Ponram and was also announced sometime back to be playing the female lead opposite RJ Balaji in his next directorial.

As for Vadivelu, he was last seen in Atlee's 2017 film Mersal starring Thalapathy Vijay and fans have been highly excited ever since it was announced that he is returning to the big screen with Naai Sekar Returns. Lyca Productions is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the film, with the buzz already quite high even before the film has rolled into production. Composer Santhosh Narayanan, who has been on a roll of late, is churning out the songs and the background score in Naai Sekar Returns, and he too is major USP for the film.
