Popular actor Kavin became a sensation across Tamil Nadu after his appearance on the hit Vijay TV reality show, Bigg Boss Tamil season 3, in 2019. Having garnered a huge following after starring in tv shows like Kana Kaanum Kaalangal and Saravanan Meenatchi, Kavin made his debut as a hero on the big screen in Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma and recently starred in the horror thriller, Lift, which came out as a direct OTT release on DisneyPlus Hotstar, with his performance fetching him rave reviews from fans and critics. That said, Kavin's next has now been announced to be titled Oor Kuruvi and is being produced under Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara's Rowdy Pictures banner under newcomer Arun K's direction, who previously worked as an assistant director to filmmakers Vignesh Shivan in Thaana Serndha Koottam and Ajay Gnanamuthu in Demonte Colony and Imaikka Nodigal. 

Oor Kuruvi has been launched on Saturday, with the Rowdy Pictures official Twitter handle tweeting the title look poster. "And on this auspicious day, we are super happy to announce our next project #OorKuruvi starring @Kavin_m_0431, directed by @arunpatrician and produced by Yours Truly!," Rowdy Pictures tweeted.

Likewise, sharing the joyous news of his new film, Kavin appeared in a fun video with Vignesh Shivan and wrote, "Oorkuruvi will put a smile on everyone's face.. :) Happy to be a part of this project and my sincere thanks to @VigneshShivN na for believing in me.. promise to give my best.." Kavin, who worked as an assistant director in the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed Doctor starring Sivakarthikeyan, recently wrapped filming on his web series titled Akash Vaani opposite Bigil fame Reba Monica John. He will be looking to deliver the goods once again with Oor Kuruvi, which is being billed to be inspired from true events, with the rest of the cast and crew expected to be announced once the film rolls into production in the days ahead.
