Wishes are pouring in for popular South Indian actress Shubha Poonja, best known among Tamil cinema fans for starring in the 2004 film Machi, as she has tied the knot with her beau Sumanth Billava on Wednesday. The couple who made their relationship official in June 2020, got hitched near Mangalore in an intimate wedding ceremony, which was held in the presence of family members and close friends. Shubha shared a photo of herself and Sumanth in their wedding attire, with the announcement of their wedding coming as a big surprise for fans. She wrote, "Hello everyone, today I and Sumanth got married in a simple wedding in the presence of family and dear friends in our village." Check out her Instagram post below:

Speaking about her relationship in December last year, Shubha said, "As Sumanth is also from Udupi and our close family members live in Mangalore, we wanted to get married in our native and we are planning to have a grand reception in Bengaluru for friends and industry colleagues." Shubha, who has garnered a huge fan following over the years in the Kannada film industry, also participated as one of the contestants on Bigg Boss Kannada season 8 last year. Manju Pavagada, who was a co-contestant with Shubha on Bigg Boss Kannada 8, had also attended the wedding and extended his wishes to the couple for the next big phase in their lives. Shubha, who has also appeared in Tamil films like Thirudiya Idhayathai (2005), Oru Ponnu Oru Paiyan (2006), and Sutta Pazham (2008), will next be seen in the Kannada venture Beera alongside Satya and Roopika under Sanjay’s direction.
