In a shocking incident, popular Hindi television and film actress Shehnaaz Gill’s father Santokh Singh Sukh was shot at by two unidentified armed men on the evening of December 25. According to reports, the incident took place as Santok was heading back home from Amritsar at around 8.30 p.m. Santokh, who recently joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), was fired at by two persons when he was sitting alone in his car after his driver parked his car near a roadside dhaba for a restroom break, but escaped the firing and remained unhurt. Reports further say the two unidentified individuals made their escape after Santokh's gunmen arrived in quick time at the scene of the incident.
After the shooting incident, Santokh Singh lodged a complaint at a nearby police station, with an investigation currently underway. Harpreet Singh, Station House Officer, Jandiala Guru police station, said the police recovered four empty shells from the spot where the incident had taken place. He said, "Following a preliminary probe, the matter was found to be suspicious and therefore further investigation was under progress."
Meanwhile, Shehnaaz Gill, who was the second runner-up in Bigg Boss 13 in 2019-20, is keeping herself busy with her work and has stayed away from social media ever since the tragic and shocking death of her close friend actor Sidharth Shukla. Having made appearances in films in Punjabi like Sat Shri Akaal England, Kala Shah Kala, Daaka and Honsla Rakh, Shehnaz recently made headlines after she was showcased on the poster of a reputed international show.
