The release date for the highly anticipated live-action movie featuring the iconic doll Barbie was announced during the Warner Bros. presentation at Las Vegas’ CinemaCon which took place on Tuesday (April 26). The movie is confirmed to release on 21 July 2023 and will open against Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer as that too is scheduled to release on the very same date. It will be fun to watch these two movies duke it out in theatres keeping in mind Nolan's film has a phenomenal cast.

But that does not mean Barbie lacks the star power as she came to play with a dreamy ensemble cast of her own which consists of a bulk of stars like Margot Robbie as Barbie, Ryan Gosling as Ken, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Ariana Greenblatt, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Ben Kingsley, Rhea Perlman, Emerald Fennell, and more.

The film is being directed by Greta Gerwig, who also co-wrote the script along with her partner Noah Baumbach while production is also currently underway on the upcoming Mattel Films and WB project. The first look image of Margot Robbie as Barbie was shared on stage at the Cinemacon. Warner Bros. Pictures also took the liberty to share the very same image on their official Twitter handle along with a caption that read, "#BARBIE July 21, 2023 Only in theaters"

The picture painted in pink screams BARBIE with Margot behind the wheel of the iconic Barbie convertible flashing a megawatt smile, sporting a pretty blue dress, and donning a polka dot headband to go along with it. Production is also currently underway on the upcoming Mattel Films and WB project and its producers include Robbie via LuckyChap with Tom Ackerley; Mattel’s Robbie Brenner; and David Heyman for Heyday Films with LuckyChap’s Josey McNamara and Mattel’s Ynon Kreiz are acting as the executive producers for the movie.
