In a shocking incident, the body of popular Bangladeshi actress Raima Islam Shimu was found in a sack on the roadside after she was reported missing a few days back. The 45-year-old's decapitated body was recovered by police officials near the Hazratpur Bridge in Keraniganj area on January 17 and has been sent to the Mitford Hospital morgue for an autopsy. A case of unnatural death has been filed by authorities. Shimu's family members and relatives had earlier filed a complaint at the Keraniganj Model Police Station after she went missing.  

Investigations are underway to find out how Shimu died and all those behind her murder. The actress' husband, Shakhawat Ali Noble, and his car driver have also been detained for further interrogation. Earlier, Shimu's husband filed a general statement at the Kalabagan police station and informed the authorities that his wife had gone missing. Officials have stated that it is a murder and a probe has been launched to find the individuals involved. The news of Shimu's demise under such gruesome circumstances has sent shockwaves in the Bangladeshi film and television industry, with celebrities and fans taking to social media to express their condolences. 

Raima Islam Shimu made her acting debut in 1998 in Bartaman and has since made appearances in nearly 25 films. Having landed roles in television shows, she was also a member of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association and served as a producer on several ventures.
