Visionary Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water is continuing its phenomenal run in theatres worldwide and has so far grossed $2.2 billion in worldwide box office collections. The epic science-fiction action-adventure film is currently in the third place behind Avatar (2009) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) for the highest-grossing films of all-time, and will arrive on digital on March 28, the film's team announced on Tuesday, March 7. Avatar 2 will be out on OTT platforms Prime Video, Apple TV, Vudu and Movies Anywhere along with the digital editions in 4K Ultra HD quality with Dolby Atmos audio toward the end of this month.

In a tweet posted on the official Avatar Twitter handle, the Avatar 2 team revealed that fans will get to revisit Pandora at the comfort of their homes along with more than three hours of unseen footage. The tweet read, "Return to Pandora whenever you want at home, only on Digital March 28. Get access to over three hours of never-before-seen extras when you add #AvatarTheWayOfWater to your movie collection." The Avatar sequel bonus content will allow audiences to further explore the world of Pandora and also give an extensive look into the making of the film's production. Other major highlights that are to be included in the Avatar: The Way of Water's digital release include the performance capture technology, the underwater ecosystems of Pandora, an insight into the Na’vi culture, the advancements into the sound design, discussions with the Wētā FX visual effects team and the entire cast and crew along with a featurette on Spider portrayed by Jack Champion. Some of the bonus features might vary across the digital retailers that have been announced.
