Ashok Selvan - Priya Bhavani Shankar starrer Hostel has been censored with a U/A certificate by the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC). The official announcement on the film certification was made by the makers recently and this means that the film is fully complete and ready for release. A formal announcement on the film's release is expected to be made very soon. Going by the online buzz, we might expect Hostel to hit the screens either in November or December. Ashok Selvan's last theatrical release was Oh My Kadavule which was a huge hit at the box office and the young actor would be looking to maintain the success streak with Hostel as well.

Hostel is the official Tamil remake of the Malayalam comedy film, Adi Kapyare Kootamani, which starred Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Namitha Pramod in the lead roles. The film is directed by Sumanth Radhakrishnan who had earlier made Sadhuram 2. Praveen Kumar has handled the cinematography, while the music is composed by Bobo Shashi. Ragul has edited the film. Produced by R Ravindran under the banner of Trident Arts, the features an ensemble star cast that includes the likes of Ashok Selvan, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sathish, Nassar, Mundasupatti Ramadoss, KPY Yogi, Krrish, and others.

The teaser of the film was released a few months before and it opened to a fairly positive response from the audience. The teaser had a fun vibe to it, catering to the youth audience. The chemistry between Ashok Selvan and Priya Bhavani Shankar looked fresh and it is going to be a treat to see them together. Apart from Hostel, Ashok Selvan will be seen playing a pivotal character in Mohanlal's highly anticipated historical drama, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham.
