Blockbuster Tamil director Hari's latest film,Yaanai, starring Arun Vijay and Priya Bhavani Shankar is now out in theatres and has taken a strong opening as family audiences are showing up in huge numbers in cinemas. The filmmaker has returned with his latest high-octane action venture after a nearly four-year gap when he last made Saamy 2 and continues to be adored by many fans for his work in films like Saamy, Aaru, and Singam, to name a notable few. With Yaanai now out in theatres, Hari recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta and was posed with many interesting queries, including being asked about doing a film with 'Thalapathy' Vijay.

Hari said, "The talk about us doing a film together and things not working out is actually untrue. We often meet and discuss stories. But, for things to move forward, there has to be a time. Once that time comes, we will work together. Apart from that, the talk of us not doing a film together because things didn't work out is not right. I've discussed stories with many other heroes like Rajinikanth sir apart from Vijay sir, including many in the Telugu film industry. This has been happening regularly and I personally take this as an experience. If one were to think about story discussion as a big task, then we will become outdated. We need to keep refreshing ourselves. Whether the story is liked and accepted is secondary, but we need to keep cooking on a frequent basis and make new attempts. If it's not liked, then we'll have to cook something new or try a new combo. It's similar to working in a kitchen."
