The upcoming series Ms. Marvel is making a splash across the world and Marvel fans are ecstatic about the fresh new miniseries. Based on Marvel Comics character Kamala Khan, the show has been hailed for featuring a plethora of South Asian artists. In it, Kamala Khan is played by Iman Vellani, a Pakistani-American who is growing up in Jersey City and idolizes the superhero Captain Marvel. With her superhuman abilities, Khan wants to safeguard society and make the world a better place just like her favorite superhero.

However, it is not her superpowers that have the attention. Ms. Marvel boasts a cast that has an array of stars from India, Pakistan, the US, the UK and Canada. Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar also makes an appearance in the superhero series. For the Indian audience, Ms Marvel will be a unique experience as the show will feature numerous references to Indian films and music.

Ms. Marvel features music from A.R. Rahman composed S.P. Balasubramaniam and Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam croomed Tamil song 'Oh Nanba' from the Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa. The six-episode series is designed to set up the upcoming movie The Marvels, in which Ms. Marvel will unite on the big screen with her idol Captain Marvel. Other notable Indian influences on the upcoming Marvel show includes soundtracks from Ritviz’s Sage, Raja Kumari’s Goddess', Angus Campbell and Kully Bhumra’s 'Disco Gully' and Ishq Bector’s 'Daaku Daddy'. Indian fans seem extremely happy and excited to have their pop-culture to be featured in a mega-budget Hollywood spectacle.

The show is directed by Bisha K. Ali for Disney+. It is the seventh television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios and shares continuity with the films of the franchise. Bisha serves as head writer with Adil & Bilall.
