Ar murugadoss reveals thuppakki secret at august 16 1947 audio launch thalapathy vijay - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Filmmaker AR Murugadoss' next big production venture is the upcoming August 16, 1947, which had its audio launched at Sathyam Cinemas in a grand manner on Monday. The period action drama has been directed by Murugadoss' assistant NS Ponkumar, who is making his film-making debut, and stars Gautham Karthik and newcomer Revathy in the lead roles. With August 16, 1947 scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on April 7, AR Murugadoss congratulated the entire team for the hard work and shared interesting stories behind the making of the film, while also revealing an interesting fact about the making of his 2012 blockbuster, Thuppakki, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay

Speaking at the August 16, 1947 audio launch, AR Murugadoss thanked Gautham Karthik for his work in the film, while also sharing an anecdote about the actor's father, 'Navarasa Naayagan' Karthik's influence in Thuppakki. Talking about a scene in the Vijay-starrer, the hit director explained, "There's a scene in Thuppaki in which Kajal Aggarwal will be telling Vijay sir that Jayaram sir is making him play cupid and is not letting them be together. At that point, Vijay sir will tell her to show respect to Jayaram sir and advice her to marry him. The inspiration for this dialogue was Karthik sir. I never told this to Vijay sir, but if you go and watch the film now, you'll know the dialogue." AR Murugadoss further stated that there are times when Karthik sir will appear in his thoughts highlighting his performances, while going on to mention a resemblance between him and his son Gautham Karthik.

In his speech, AR Murugadoss also stressed on how many people have been the reason for his growth and success in cinema stating that the concept of "a self-made person" is an utter lie. He said, "Only if a hundred people help us, we will be able to come up here. It is because of all of them that I have been able to come here and it's not possible to stand here all of a sudden. Similar to how Ponkumar worked for me, I too started my career the same way. There has not been a day when I haven't carried food in carriers to shops. I've provided food to people, washed the plates, served tea and also written dialogues for films at the shooting spot. I was happy doing all this and am not saying that it was difficult at all. Only if we work hard like that, we can come up in life. The reason I'm saying this is because we should not feel ashamed after hearing this. We often think about great people and rising up in life like them. We can come up like this also. Cinema is not a big thing. It's not like we're going to invent a camera. We're going to make a film and show a sequence of events. Everybody can do that and it's very easy. All you need is the right person who will push you forward. Ponkumar's story and his hard work is why he's here now."
