2022 is turning out to be a grand and eventful year for one of Bollywood's most sought-after actresses, Alia Bhatt. She has been the talk of the town and the topic of discussion after having 2 films, Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR, among others released already and recently tying the knot with the man of her dreams, Ranbir Kapoor. The theatrical run of c was praised by many garnering great reviews and it performed exceptionally well at the box office. And for those who were not able to catch the film in theatres, fret not.

This Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial has secured its date for an official OTT release now. Gangubai will be premiering on Netflix on April 26 onwards. It is not just that but the Telugu version of the movie will also be made available to watch on Netflix on the very same day. Netflix India took to their official Twitter handle to announce to the world that Gangubai is coming soon to take over Netflix now. They wrote, "Chilla chilla ke sabko bata do, aarahi hai Gangu #GangubaiKathiawadi is arriving on April 26th", which loosely translates to "Scream and tell everyone that Gangu is on her way"

Gangubhai Kathiawadi is based on the life story of a social activist and a prostitute named Gangubai Harjeevandas. Her name resonated in the streets of the Kamathipura district in Mumbai during the 1960s. Alia Bhatt plays the bold titular role in the film with ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali helming the same. The film was released in theatres almost 2 months earlier on the 25th of February and roughly 2 months later, it is arriving on Netflix.

On the work front, Alia has completed shooting for Jasmeet K Reen's Darlings which she has also co-produced. Currently, Alia is filming for Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in which she will be starring opposite Ranveer Singh. She is also awaiting the release of the highly anticipated Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva in which she will be sharing the screen with her newly wed husband Ranbir Kapoor.
