The action blockbuster, Vedalam, released in 2015 went on to become an important film in ‘Thala’ Ajith’s glorious career and continues to be a memorable one for the actor’s fans everywhere. Ever since the film became a box office success, there has been a talk about getting it remade in Hindi with Bollywood superstar John Abraham reprising Ajith’s role. Now, an official statement has come out from reputed Tamil film producer A. M. Rathnam, many who has revealed the Vedalam Hindi remake will be helmed by director Rohit Dhawan of Desi Boyz and Dishoom fame. However,  A. M. Rathnam has revealed that he will not be associated with the Vedalam remake, which will instead be produced by reputed music record label and film production company, T-Series, with filming expected to begin once John Abraham wraps up his present commitments.

The Vedalam remake for John Abraham comes after he had starred in the remake of Kaakha Kaakha, which was titled Force, and was released in 2011. Vedalam directed by Siva was produced by A. M. Rathnam under the Sri Satya Sai Movies banner had Anirudh Ravichander as the composer with the 'Aaluma Doluma' song going on to become a chartbuster. Among the several mass moments in the film, fans continue to recollect even today the mass transformation scene in which Ajith scores with his performance. Incidentally, this will not be the first time that the smash hit Ajith film is getting remade as a Bengali remake titled Sultan: The Saviour with Jeet in the lead role.
