Leading Tamil actress Aishwarya Rajesh's next big film is titled Manik, an official announcement was made about the project on Thursday, November 3. The upcoming project is being made as a Tamil-Hindi bilingual and will mark newcomer Samrat Chakraborty's directorial debut after he worked as a writer in big Bollywood films like the Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif-starrer, Jagga Jasoos, in 2017 and the 2020 black comedy crime film, Ludo, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Rajkummar Rao. Aishwarya Rajesh will be playing the role of a nurse in Manik, which is being produced by Nutmeg Productions and is their second venture, with Endemol Shine India, the showrunners of Bigg Boss, also bankrolling the film. 

Sharing a photo from the sets, Aishwarya Rajesh made the big announcement on Twitter and wrote, "Super thrilled and honoured to be a part of  the Tamil-Hindi bi-lingual #Manik, Directed by #SamratChakraborty sir, Looking forward to this one!" The film began production on Wednesday, November 2, and also includes cinematography by Indranath Marick. Aishwarya Rajesh, who is already headlining a few big films, will want to hit the bullseye with her first-ever bilingual, and Manik will no doubt be a big step forward for the actress, who recently was conferred with the Tamil Nadu State Award for her performance in Kaaka Muttai. As for her upcoming films, Aishwarya Rajesh will be seen next in the much-awaited Driver Jamuna, which is coming out in theatres on November 4 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. The film is her first big-screen release after she was last seen in Vaanam Kottatum in 2020. Aishwarya Rajesh also has in her lineup Tamil films like 'Action King' Arjun's Theeyavar Kulaigal Nadunga, Vishnu Vishal's Mohandas, followed by The Great Indian Kitchen remake, Soppana Sundari under Lock Up fame S G Charles' direction, Farhana with Monster director Nelson Venkatesan, and the long-delayed Idam Porul Yaeval, including 'Chiyaan' Vikram's Dhruva Natchathiram
