After a hiatus, ace actress Revathy will be turning a director and she will be collaborating with star actress Kajol for her next directorial venture. The official announcement on the project was made this morning (October 7) on social media and it looks like an exciting project is on cards. The film has been titled The Last Hurrah and Revathy is said to have penned a heartwarming story. Kajol took to her official Twitter page to share her excitement on the project. Sharing a picture with Revathy, Kajol wrote, "So happy to announce my next film with the super awesome Revathi directing me.. called 'The Last Hurrah'. A heartwarming story that made me instantly say YES! Can I hear a “Yipppeee” please? #AshaRevathy @isinghsuraj @Shra2309 @priyankvjain @arorasammeer".

Similarly, Revathy also expressed her excitement through her Instagram post in which she wrote, "Very happy to announce my next film as a Director - Last Hurrah with a favourite and charming actor ‘Kajol’. Looking forward to shaping a character I have carried with me for more than 7 years. God bless 🙏🏾". The Last Hurrah will be produced by Take 23 Studios in association with Blive Productions. The Last Hurrah will mark Revathy's fifth directorial venture after Mitr, My Friend, Phir Milenge, Makal (Kerala Cafe), and Parcel (Mumbai Cutting).

Revathy's first directorial film, Mitr, My Friend won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in English. Parcel was Revathy's last directorial which released in 2010. Parcel was a short film that featured in the anthology film, Mumbai Cutting. As an actor, Revathy was last seen in Navarasa, the Netflix anthology bankrolled by Mani Ratnam. Revathy acted in an important role in the short film titled Ethiri which was directed by Bejoy Nambiar.
