Popular Hindi television and film actors Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Shaikh are divorced after news of their split began doing the rounds several months back. The ex-couple, who had been married for nearly nine years, had never before addressed their separation but were going through issues in their marriage. According to the Hindustan Times, a source close to the former couple said, "It has been around nine months since the divorce papers came through. They have moved on in their respective lives. Both of them are extremely private, and thus didn’t wish to give out any official statement about the divorce." 

It is also being said that the custody of their two-year-old daughter Ayra is with Sanjeeda, who has shifted back to her paternal house after the divorce. Furthermore, the former couple is unlikely to address their judicial separation via an official announcement. Aamir and Sanjeeda tied the knot after being in a relationship for a few years. Their marriage hit headlines in 2020 after it was reported that they began living separately. At the time, rumors also sprung up about the couple having a child through surrogacy, which they have never addressed. 

Aamir Ali is best known for his work on television in Hindi shows like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, F.I.R., Ek Hasina Thi, including the ZEE5 dark comedy web series Black Widows. He has also served as the host of the Hindi celebrity dance reality TV series Nach Baliye 4, while also making appearances in films like Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai?, Khamosh Pani and I Hate Luv Storys to name a notable few. As for Sanjeeda Sheikh, she made her acting debut in the Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan-starrer Baghban and appeared in roles in films namely Pankh, Ashke, Nawabzaade, Taish, Kaali Khuhi and the Tamil venture Ponniyin Selvan in 2005. Known for her dance skills, she has participated as a contestant on shows like Zara Nachke Dikha 2 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8.
