A r rahman reggae maamannan second single release on may 27 udhayanidhi stalin mari selvaraj - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Udhayanidhi Stalin's Maamannan directed by Mari Selvaraj is the talk of the town after the film's first song, 'Raasa Kannu', released recently received a stunning response. Composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman and featuring vocals by 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu, the song has been garnering appreciation from all quarters for its tune, followed by lyrics by Yugabharathi, and the soulful rendition by Vadivelu. With 'Raasa Kannu' currently sitting at the top of the charts, prestigious production-distribution banner Red Giant Movies on Thursday announced that the second single from Maamannan titled 'A. R. Rahman's Reggae' will be out on May 27.

The title of the Maamannan second single, 'A. R. Rahman's Reggae', itself raises quite a lot of curiosity and we can expect the chart-topping composer to deliver yet another memorable hit song after 'Raasa Kannu'. Based on the title, we can now assume that the song will be set in the reggae genre and could likely be infused with Tamil rural folk music. Maamannan is one of the most-awaited films in recent times among A. R. Rahman's ardent fans as the film marks his big full-fledged comeback to the rural genre after quite some time.

Maamannan has been creating a lot of excitement among fans as it is also the first-time collaboration between A. R. Rahman and Mari Selvaraj, who has become one of the most prolific directors in Tamil cinema in recent years after his films Pariyerum Perumal (2018) and Karnan (2021). Announced to come out in theatres worldwide in June, the film includes a power-packed star cast featuring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Vadivelu sharing screen space with National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh and Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil, who will be seen in pivotal roles. Maamannan has also been announced to be Udhayanidhi Stalin's last big film before he jumps into politics full-time and he will be looking to hit the bullseye before bidding farewell to cinema.
