The film industry is a place filled with big names. A number of Indian actors are well-known names not only nationally but internationally as well. Big credits to them as they were not just randomly picked up names in chits in an opportunity to get famous but instead worked hard, proved their worth and earned their title. With a new generation of up and coming actors, let us look at some new age talents who have the scope to make it big as star heroes in the future, just as their idols from the cine field:

1) ARJUN DAS:

He made a confident acting debut in the suspense thriller Perumaan in 2012. A few other movies and short films later, he appeared in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kaithi taking up the role as the film's antagonist, a cocaine addict gang leader and the film gave him the much-needed breakthrough. He then collaborated with Lokesh again for Master portraying Das, the film's secondary antagonist. While playing captivating characters and delivering promising performances in each movie, Arjun Das can be expected to be well cemented in the film industry. His upcoming movies include Aneedhi and an untitled film directed by Anwar Rasheed.

2) PRANAV MOHANLAL:

The son of legendary actor Mohanlal began acting as a child with a minor role in his father's film Onnaman in 2002. He then bagged the leading role in Punarjani which came out in the same year, for which he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist. After a long break from acting, he made his comeback in 2018 by appearing in Adhi as the leading role which gave him a good start. His recent release being Hridayam paved his way as an up and coming star due to his strong screen presence and brilliant performance.

3) ASHOK SELVAN:

He made his breakthrough in 2013 by playing one of the lead roles in Soodhu Kavvum. He later gained critical acclaim for his performances in Pizza II: Villa and Thegidi. His recent blockbuster was the 2020's Oh My Kadavule. Having delivered some great performances, he has the potential to be a very successful film star in the future. He made his Telugu debut with Ninnila Ninnila and also his Malayalam debut with Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham both in 2021. His upcoming film is Manmatha Leelai directed by Venkat Prabhu.

4) DHRUV VIKRAM: 

Being the son of "Chiyaan" Vikram, Dhruv made his acting debut with the film Adithya Varma in 2019. His performance was intense and raw. There is an assuredness and honesty that makes us appreciate his efforts. His recent release Mahaan catapults him into the big league as his portrayal of Dada, a cop was mesmerizing and also gave a powerful performance alongside his father Vikram. With his ultimate swag and confident portrayal of roles, he is set to become the next big thing in K-town.

5) SIDDHANT CHATURVEDI:

He first starred as a teenage cricketer in the Amazon Prime Video web series Inside Edge from 2017 to 2019. His performance in it bagged him a role in the 2019 film Gully Boy which marked his film debut and proved to be his breakout role. It earned him widespread critical acclaim and nationwide recognition, in addition to winning the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He later went on to star in Bunty Aur Babli 2 and will soon be seen in the upcoming film Gehraiyaan in which he plays the lead. He has got the films Phone Bhoot and Yudhra under his belt awaiting release.

6) KAVIN:

His first appearance in television serials was through the college version of Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal in which he played a student. After playing a couple more supporting roles in TV soaps, he opted for his desire to break into the Tamil film industry. His dream finally came true when he got the lead role in Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma (2019). He participated in the widely popular television show, Bigg Boss which earned him fame. He went on to star in movies like Lift, and later made his web series debut with the romantic titled Akash Vaani and currently working on the film Oor Kuruvi.

7) KALIDAS JAYARAM:

He made his debut in the Malayalam film Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal in 2000 at the age of seven. He later starred in Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum which won him the National Film Award for Best Child Artist of 2003. He made his debut in Tamil cinema in 2016 with Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum and returned to his Malayalam roots with Poomaram. The film that gave him a massive breakthrough as an actor was Thangam, the short segment from the Netflix anthology, Paava Kadhaigal. With more exciting projects in his lineup, Kalidas is a promising star to watch out for.

8) ROSHAN MATHEW:

He had his first major role in the 2016 film Puthiya Nyamam and his career progressed with his roles in Aanandam and Koode, winning many awards for the lattermost. He further gained worldwide recognition with Moothon in 2019, Netflix's Kappela and Amazon Prime's C U Soon.

9) AKHIL AKKINENI:

He first appeared on screen at the age of one in Sisindri back in 1995. He later returned in 2015 and made his debut in a lead role with Akhil. In 2017, his second movie Hello garnered good reviews. His upcoming film titled Agent, a spy thriller is expected to be a pan-India movie. Akhil has got the looks and potential to become a star actor and let us hope to see some exciting stuffs from the young talent.

10) VIKRANT MASSEY:

He made his debut on television with Kahaan Hoo Main in 2004 and later had roles in series such as Dhoom Machaao Dhoom, Dharam Veer and Qubool Hai. His debut film was a brief appearance in Lootera, followed by Dil Dhadakne Do, a supporting cast in Half Girlfriend, played a protagonist in 2017's critically acclaimed film A Death in the Gunj and also starred opposite Deepika Padukone in the acid attack survivor film Chhapaak. He played the lead character in the Amazon Prime Video web-series Mirzapur. His subtle yet impactful performance in the web-series is one of the biggest reasons for the success of the digital project.
