One of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Kannada cinema, K.G.F: Chapter 1 was the first installment in the two-part series, which is set to be followed by K. G. F: Chapter 2, once again under Prashanth Neel’s direction with production being done by Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films banner. With KGF: Chapter 1’s lead star, Yash, set to reprise his role once again as Raja Krishnappa Bairya "Rocky" alongside the female lead Srinidhi Shetty, a general casting call for KGF: Chapter 2 was made a while back with the response being nothing short of tremendous. That said, the makers have now announced that the upcoming second installment will finally see the reveal of the much-awaited character, ‘Adheera’ on July 29 at 10AM, after being teased quite a lot in the first part. There have been plenty of speculations for a while now as to who will be playing the character with Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt’s name being billed as a top contender for the role.
An action period franchise, KGF: Chapter 1 centred around Yash as Rocky Bhai after he arrives in Bombay in the 1960s, after which he goes on a quest for power and wealth. Eventually, he also gets involved with the gold mafia there leading him to being recruited to take down the cruel Garuda, who is the heir-in-waiting, in the Kolar Gold Fields. As with the first part, KGF: Chapter 2 will also most likely be dubbed in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam as the previous film went on to taste a good success in all the languages.
