The Kashmir Files which was released nationwide on March 11, depicted the exodus of the Kashmiri Hindu Pandits from the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s. The heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle & trauma of the Kashmiri Pandits questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics, and humanity. The film turned out to be a hit given its touching storyline and powerful performance from its cast.

After dominating the box office, the filmmaker has now announced his next film. He will now be working on The Delhi Files. He took to Twitter today (April 15) and wrote, "I thank all the people who owned #TheKashmirFiles. For the last 4 yrs, we worked very hard with utmost honesty & sincerity. I may have spammed your TL but it’s important to make people aware of the GENOCIDE & injustice done to Kashmiri Hindus. It’s time for me to work on a new film."

Renowned veteran actor Anupam Kher also took to his Twitter handle to wish the director for his next venture. He also shared the title poster of The Delhi Files. He shared the poster and wrote a sweet caption that read, "Good luck dear @vivekagnihotri for #TheDelhiFiles!! I am sure as a filmmaker you will do great justice to another chapter of our past dealt wrongly. Looking forward to be part of it. 🙏 #RightToLife"

Written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files presents a fictional storyline and depicts the early-1990 exodus of Kashmiri Hindu Pandits to be a genocide, a notion that is widely considered inaccurate and associated with conspiracy theories. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi among others.
