Originally a Tamil film Vishwaroopam, which has been banned in Tamil Nadu amidst all the controversies surrounding it, has successfully released in Hindi as Vishwaroop in Uttar Pradesh.

With tight security, the Kamal Haasan film released in five multiplexes and two single screen theaters, despite getting warnings from the ruling Samajwadi Party, who insisted not to release the film as it portrays Muslims in poor light. However, after approval from the government the film is set for release.

We hear from the Deputy manager of PVR cinemas, Atul Gupta, that there were just 70 spectators in the cinema hall which is meant for 209 people.

However, there was no trouble as such, while the film was running.
