A day after revoking the ban against, Vishal has announced that he would contest for the president's post in the upcoming Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC) elections. Khushbu, who was earlier rumoured to fight for the post, tweeted her support for the actor. "I extend my full support 2 #Vishal n team who r contesting 4 #ProducerCouncilElection.I knw dey wl do gud..I luk 4wrd 2 Vishal's leadership," she wrote.
The council recently issued a ban to Vishal for allegedly speaking against the association in an interview. Vishal has claimed that the council runs away from their responsibilities and no actions were taken even after reporting the names of theaters indulged in pirating films. Following the ban, Vishal challenged the council by filing a case against them in the High Court. Then, the council has argued that they would take back the ban if Vishal issues an apology note. The actor later issued an apology too.
