Actor Vishal has carved a niche for himself in the Tamil film industry as a powerhouse talent, while also producing and distributing several notable films under his Vishal Film Factory banner. Apart from being an actor and a producer, he was also elected as the General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam, while also currently serving as the President of the Tamil Film Producers Council. With a couple of films already lined up, rumors sprung up stating Vishal was set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, it has been stated that a meeting between Vishal and the State Unit President of the Tamil Nadu BJP L. Murugan had been fixed and that the actor was going to be inducted into the party. With the news gaining steam, we here at Galatta have been informed by Vishal's manager Hari that there are no plans for the actor to join BJP as being reported. Vishal's side has outright denied the reports on social media as nothing else than baseless rumors, while adding that the actor is currently busy with his upcoming projects.

On the professional front, Vishal has two huge films lined up starting with the much-awaited Thupparivaalan 2. Billed to be an action crime thriller film just as its 2017 original, Thupparivaalan, the sequel will see Vishal making his directorial debut, while also reprising the lead role as Kaniyan Poongundran, with Prasanna once again set to portray the character Manohar. Featuring music by 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja, Thupparivaalan 2 includes Gauthami, Nassar, and Rahman in major supporting roles with cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Anthony.

The next big project for Vishal is the cyber thriller, Chakra, in which he will be seen alongside Shraddha Srinath, Regina Cassandra, Srushti Dange, Robo Shankar, Manobala, K. R. Vijaya among others, under debutant director MS Anandan. Featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Chakra also includes cinematography by Balasubramaniem, editing by Thiyagu and stunts by Anl Arasu.
