The Fast and the Furious is one of the most popular franchises, including India, ever since it came into existence. However, after Paul Walker's demise, the 2017 release, The Fate of the Furious aka Fast and Furious 8/ F8 took a hit at the box-office. The next installment in the franchise is, Fast & Furious 9. The filming was being held at the Warner Bros studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire. It was reported that Vin Diesel was filming a balcony scene and his stunt double, Joe Watts, who was hanging with aid of safety wire, fell 30 feet, head first and is currently in coma.
Apparently the safety wire with which Joe Watts was hanging snapped and the mishap has occurred while Vin Diesel was still present on the sets. Everyone went into the state of shock after witnessing this accident. As per the stunt choreographed, Joe Watts was supposed to be left dangling below the balcony and then lowered slowly to the ground but instead the wire snapped and he landed in his head. This horrific scene has also been caught on the cameras and was handed to police.
Joe Watts' fiancée, Tilly Powell, who herself is a stunt double had stated in her social media handle that, he has suffered a serious head injury and is in an induced coma. She also expressed her love for him and that her heart is shattered. Tilly Powell additionally stated that Joe's stable and is monitored closely. We pray that he recovers soon and gets back on sets.
