Vijayakanth starts Virudhagiri

In the midst of his�demanding schedules in the political arena, veteran Tamil actor 'Captain' Vijayakanth has started the shooting of his next film titled Virudhagiri, directed by Vijayakanth himself and produced by L.K. Sudeesh under the banner of Captain Cine Creations.

The shooting was commenced on Monday at Rekha House in Saidapet, Chennai in the presence of crew members. S.K. Boopathy cranks the camera. The actor was supposed to begin directing last year, but political commitments ate into his time.

Virudhagiri is expected to be an Indianised version of the Hollywood movie Taken. Sundar C. Babu scores the music. A search is on for the heroine. The makers are planning to shoot the major parts of the film�overseas locations�in Australia and New Zealand. Viruthagiri is planned as Captain’s summer 2010 release.
