One of the hottest films coming out this year, the shooting for Vijay’s Thalapathy 63 has been progressing at a brisk pace with director Atlee and team hard at work in light of the action sports entertainer’s release in October. Production kicked off in January with a picture from the film’s sets now showing Atlee and many others playing a game of cricket after the shoot. A picture has been doing the rounds that has the Theri and Mersal director taking stance as the batsman on the football pitch set created for Thalapathy 63 with the rest of the crew assembled as the fielders.
Thalapathy 63 being produced by AGS Entertainment marks the sixth occasion Vijay will be seen in dual roles as he had played double or more roles previously in Azhagiya Tamil Magan, Villu, Kaththi, Puli and Mersal. All eyes are now set on the film’s first look and the title coming out on the occasion of Vijay’s birthday on June 22. The superstar is said to be playing the coach of the Tamil Nadu women’s football team with the film being billed to be quite different from what he has done in recent times.
An AGS Entertainment venture, Thalapathy 63 is gearing up to be a commercial package entertainer and has a multi-star cast featuring names like Nayanthara playing the female lead, Kathir, Vivek, Jackie Shroff, Indhuja, Daniel Balaji, Anandaraj, Yogi Babu, Reba Monica John, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha Iyer, Soundararaja, Devadarshini, ‘Thaadi’ Balaji among others in supporting roles with music by Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman.
