Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's next film in Tamil has been officially announced and it is indeed an exciting biggie. As already speculated, Vijay Sethupathi will be teaming up with director Ponram of Varuthapadaatha Vaalibar Sangam, Rajini Murugan, and Seemaraja fame for this new film. The highlight surprise is that this film will be produced by Tamil cinema's leading production house, Sun Pictures. The official announcement regarding the project was made by Sun Pictures, this evening (March 17) through a special promo teaser. The promo teaser gives us a glimpse of how the film is going to be and it looks like a fun filled entertainer is on cards.

Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as a police officer in the film. From what we see in the announcement teaser, it looks like the film's story takes place in Dindigul. The promo looks vibrant and promises to be good fun and this will make Vijay Sethupathi even more popular and bankable among the rural audience. Produced by Sun Pictures, this film will have music scored by D Imman. Dinesh Krishnan B will be handling the film's cinematography, while the editing and art direction departments are headed by Vivek Harshan and Kumar respectively. This new film is tentatively called VJS 46, marking the actor's 46th film.

Only 2.5 years back, Vijay Sethupathi's 25th film, Seethakaathi got released and in a short span of time, he has neared the half century mark. Details regarding the female lead, rest of the cast, and commencement of shoot are yet to be known and we will update you about it in the coming days. Director Ponram is known for his rural comedy entertainers and let us hope that the talented director delivers in style. Sun Pictures has several exciting biggies lined up - Thalapathy 65 with Vijay, Suriya 40 with Suriya, D 44 with Dhanush, Annaatthe with Superstar Rajinikanth, and the latest to join this list is the Vijay Sethupathi starrer.
