The name Mani Ratnam instantly evokes a sense of curiosity and the same can be said about his ongoing multi-starrer film, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.

Being made under the title Nawab in Telugu, the bilingual is being produced jointly by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and cinematography by Santosh Sivan.

The most exciting aspect of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is no doubt it’s huge ensemble cast which also includes 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi.

Although details surrounding the characters in the film had been kept under wraps, reports have now started surfacing stating Vijay Sethupathi will be seen essaying the role of a police officer.

It must be noted this would mark the second occasion for Vijay Sethupathi to don the khakhi after his super successful Sethupathi in 2016.

As for the rest of the cast, Simbu has transformed himself quite a lot to nail a toned physique for his role.

Post the success of Naachiyaar, Jyothika’s role is expected to be equally monumental in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam too.

Mani Ratnam’s frequent collaborator, Arvind Swamy too has nabbed a meaty role in the film.

Aishwarya Rajesh is on a roll these days by landing a role in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam after being cast in Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram and Dhanush’s Vada Chennai.

The film is a big opportunity for Arun Vijay post acclaimed performances in Yennai Arindhaal and Kuttram 23.

She left hearts fluttering in Kaatru Veliyidai and Aditi Rao Hydari has once again been handpicked for Chekka Chivantha Vaanam too.

Although no release date been announced as of now, we can expect the film to come sometime around the end of this year or early 2019.
