Nalan Kumarasamy is one director that people look to see make more movies. He made an astonishing start with Soodhu Kavvum in the year 2013. He later went on to make Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum in 2016 and since then his fans are waiting for him to get back into the business. We had earlier reported that Nalan Kumarasamy is working on a fun and entertaining script for Studio Green. It’s going to be a special script that Nalan has been writing for years. Meanwhile, now our sources tell us that Nalan Kumarasamy would soon make an extended short film featuring Vijay Sethupathi during this lockdown phase. Apparently, the talks are going on but nothing has been finalized as of now. A section of media has been reporting that Nalan and Vijay Sethupathi are teaming up for full-length feature film but that’s not true adds our source. This untitled film will not be as tiny as a short film, at the same time, it will not be a feature film. It is going to be a hangout project shot during with all the lockdown restrictions. If it happens, this would be Nalan Kumarasamy’s third association with Vijay Sethupathi after Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum.

It must be noted that Nalan Kumarasamy started his career as a short filmmaker and won the title of the first season of Naalaya Iyakunar. Nalan was into event management and real estate when he heard about Naalaya Iyakunar. There were just ten days to the deadline. So, he turned it meta and made a short called Oru Padam Edukkanum about a filmmaker with a deadline. He went on to make seven more short films. Nenjukku Neethi, his entry for the final round, made him first prize winner of season 1. He made a lot of friends during that phase of life. Even before directing Soodhu Kavvum, Nalan worked as a dialogue and screenplay writer in Sundar C’s Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru. He has written screenplay for CV Kumar’s Maayavan and was also the additional screenplay writer in Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s much-celebrated Super Deluxe. We just can’t wait to see Nalan Kumarasamy back in action. Best wishes to him.
