Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda became a sensation across South India after starring in films like Pelli Choopulu, Geetha Govindam including Dear Comrade and a power-packed intense performance in the cult youth romance box office blockbuster drama, Arjun Reddy. Last seen in the romantic drama, World Famous Lover, which came out as a Valentine's Day treat in February this year, Vijay Deverakonda has now released a statement on his social networking pages requesting fans and followers to leave the medical masks to the doctors and instead cover the face using a handkerchief or a scarf as a protective measure against the COVID-19 virus that has taken thousands of lives around the world while leaving millions affected.

Posting a picture of himself, Vijay Deverakonda added saying the spread of the disease will slow down when the face is covered using a cloth while also requesting everyone to stay safe. The actor had recently also done his part in advocating the importance of social distancing and self-isolation by appearing in a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video to inform the public about the dangerous effects of the coronavirus and how not adhering to following the necessary procedures could lead to devastating results for everyone.
