Music director turned actor Vijay Antony is one of the prominent actors in Tamil cinema right now, who has a very good fan base, especially among the family audience. His film, Pichaikkaran holds the record for highest TRP impression during its television premiere. The multi talented artist is currently acting in three films, which include Agni Siragugal, directed by Moodar Koodam fame Naveen, Thamezharasan, and Khakhi. All the three films are in different stages of production and the shooting has been stalled due to the current pandemic situation.

Realising the plight of the producers of these films, Vijay Antony has come forward and reduced his remuneration by 25%, which is said to be around 1 crore. He believes that his reduction in the salary will help the producers save some money during this testing time and that in turn would pave way for the smooth release for the film. This move from Vijay Antony has been welcomed widely by everyone and the producers are all praise for his noble and timely decision. Industry experts have also opined that it would be great if other leading actors in the industry come forward and reduce their salary to help the producers.

Talking about Vijay Antony’s decision, producer T Siva of Amma Creations (also the producer of Agni Siragugal) said, “It is very kind of Vijay Antony to accept salary reduction considering the situation we are in due to the lock down for over 50 days and the further delay expected in releasing the films. We request that all actors and technicians should also come forward and accept reduced salaries so that the overall cost of all the current film producers reduces to tide over the crisis all of us are all facing currently.

By accepting this reduction in the agreed salary, Vijay Antony is becoming an example for being a good Producer's actor and we wish him all the success in his future films." Other two film producers have also wholeheartedly welcomed this 'voluntary salary reduction support offered by Vijay Antony.
