After Thimiru Pudichavan, the musician turned actor Vijay Antony is all set to don the police uniform again. The star's new movie titled Khakee is directed by A Senthilkumar and the cast involved some big names like Sathyaraj, Jai, Yogi Babu, Robo Shankar, Eswari Rao and others in important roles. The movie is made under the banner Open Theater.

The most interesting thing about the movie is the title Khakee. The title has been holding a jinx and many had tried the title for their movie. The first one to eye for the title is Sarathkumar back in 2006. The movie produced by GJ Cinema featuring Sarath Kumar and Namitha in the lead. Sarathkumar's Khakee was directed by Vincent Selva in which Sarathkumar appeared with a tonsured head. The film was shelved due to various reasons.

After Sarathkumar, the big star to try the title is none other than Thalapathy Vijay. Vijay's 59th movie Theri was written and directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. The film featured Samantha, Amy Jackson, Mahendran, Prabhu, and Raadhika amongst others form an ensemble cast. Vijay and Atlee had the title Khaakee in consideration for the movie but decided to go with the title Theri as it was more fitting.

Vijay Antony and the team has managed to grab the title this time and the third time luck could swing towards the right track this time. The shoot has kick-started in a good way and the movie is expected to hit the screens later this year.
