We’ve been excited about director Venkat Prabhu’s plans to make a political thriller movie and though news about Maanadu has been tentative for a long time, we are still looking forward to seeing STR in the film. The project, though not shelved, has seen many postponements. Now, sources say that shooting for Maanadu will begin in October or November according to STR's availability.
In the last week of July, it was made known that Venkat Prabhu will be directing a web series for the popular digital streaming platform Hotstar. Venkat Prabhu has over the years voiced positive opinion about web series. Reportedly, the Chennai-28 director had a storyline in mind for a movie after Maanadu but decided to extend the script and take a web series to do justice to the movie. Now, sources have confirmed that the shooting schedule for the web series will begin in the second week of August.
Kajal Aggarwal, who is awaiting the release of her two upcoming movies - Ranarangam in Telugu and Comali in Tamil – is debuting into the world of web videos with this project. Kajal also has Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 in the pipeline. The rest of the crew is yet to be finalised.
