Director Venkat Prabhu's latest tweet has now gone viral among Ajith fans and it has excited them. Wonder, why? Venkat Prabhu requested producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri and Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures to re-release his film, Mankatha that starred Thala Ajith in the lead role. We have been seeing several cult classics and blockbuster hit films being re-released in theatres to attract the audience. Selvaraghavan's Aayirathil Oruvan, Ajith's Billa, and Silambarasan TR's Manmadhan are some of the films that had a re-release in the recent past. Following that trend, Venkat Prabhu requested the producers of the film to release Mankatha in theatres on May 1, on the occasion of Ajith's birthday.

Ajith is celebrating his 50th birthday, this May 1, and interestingly, Mankatha was his 50th film. Connecting both the 50s, Venkat Prabhu placed the request and it has gone viral among the fans. Venkat Prabhu's tweet read, "Saar @dhayaalagiri vara may 1st #thala50 so namma #thala50 ana #mankatha va unga influence use panni april 30th re release panna fans naanga ungalukku romba kadamai patrupom!! Paathu seiyunga😁😬 @sunpictures #thala #thalafans". Will Dhayanidhi Alagiri and Sun Pictures (who released the film) listen to Venkat Prabhu's request and re release Mankatha in theatres on May 1?

Let us keep our fingers crossed and wait for further developments. Mankatha was Ajith's 50th film and it is still considered to be one of the biggest blockbusters in Ajith's film career. The film stands to be special for Ajith fans, especially for its iconic intro scene, massy intermission sequence, and epic climax twist. The fans are also eagerly looking forward to the sequel of Mankatha and we will have to wait for a few more years to know if that will happen. Meanwhile, Ajith fans are also excited to witness the highly anticipated first look poster of Ajith's Valimai on May 1. This year's Ajith birthday is indeed going to be very special and we can expect the first look poster to take social media by storm.

Valimai is directed by H Vinoth and has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film will have Ajith playing the role of a police officer and he will be performing several high octane stunt moves. Produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP, the film features Kaala fame, Huma Qureshi, as the female lead.
