Jigarthanda is one of the most iconic films ever in Tamil cinema history's timeline, released in the year 2014. Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, this gangster comedy flick had Siddharth, Bobby Simhaa and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles and Karunakarana and Guru Somasundaram in supportive roles. Bobby Simha even received a National award for his acting in the category, Best Supporting Actor. Being officially remade in Telugu, Bobby Simha's role is being reprised by Varun Tej and Siddharth's by Atharvaa. Titled as Valmiki, the movie has officially been announced to hit the silver screens on September 14th. Check out the official tweet!
Valmiki also features Mirnalini Ravi and Pooja Hegde, with Bollywood cinematographer, Ayananka Bose cranking the camera and Devi Sri Prasad composing music. Valmiki is helmed by Harish Shankar of Duvvada Jagannadham fame, and Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta are jointly producing.

The pre-teaser of Valmiki was released on June 24 and looked terrific. Even a couple of days ago, Varun Tej was injured while filming for the movie, but rather recovered soon.
