One of the most beloved stars in Tamil cinema, actor Vadivelu has established himself as a talent powerhouse in comedy while also garnering the name of a versatile performer who can express and emote appropriately in accordance to the nature and requirement of a scene and the story. Known among the masses for his classic dialogues, he has been hailed as the content king for meme creators across Tamil Nadu who use scenes from his films to convey their opinions in a humorous manner. Vadivelu, who was last seen in a major supporting role in ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s 2017 blockbuster, Mersal, was also announced to be part of Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikesi; the sequel to his 2006 cult historical comedy hit film, Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi. That said, Vadivelu has now released a video on Sun TV’s social media pages in which he goes on to clarify rumors about his birth date stating it is September 12 and not as being assumed or reported by a few. Lovingly called as 'Vaigai Puyal', the iconic comedian further went on to reveal that fans need not worry about him not being seen in films anymore as details surrounding his next project(s) will be let known by the end of this month (September).

In the video, Vadivelu states, “I wish to clarify first and foremost that I was born on September 12. I will always be grateful to my mother for the wonderful person she is and the love she had showered upon me. I am releasing this statement as there are reports saying I was born in October and in other months. I only want to avoid confusion among fans, who have been my strength. You all will be wondering why I’m not acting in films anymore. That wait is going to end soon as a major announcement will be made towards the end of this month. Life has its ups and downs. There is a saithaan and disturbance in everybody’s lives in some form or the other. Likewise, it’s the same for me to. But, the strength that you (fans) all give me keeps me going,”.
