Vadivelu in talks with Kamal Haasan in Thalaivan Irukkindran

Despite not starring in many movies of late, Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu has always been popping into the spotlight at frequent intervals. He was last seen on screens, alongside Thalapathy Vijay in Mersal, in 2017. Following that, he made the headlines when the #SaveNesamani hashtag went viral. There have also been a lot of speculations about his movie Imsai Arasan 24 aam Pulikecei being revived or shelved. However, we do have some exciting news now, which if true would make for a grand comeback to mainstream cinema for the legendary comedian.

Latest reports suggest that Kamal Haasan's Thalaivan Irukkindran team are in talks to rope in Vadivelu for their movie. Work is progressing rapidly on Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's much awaited Indian 2 and now we hear that the pre-production is also beginning for his next - Thalaivan Irukkindran. This new movie, which will reportedly be like a sequel to the blockbuster hit Thevar Magan, is said to bring back together Kamal Haasan and Vadivelu. The reports state that the movie required a comedian who could also provide some intense emotions when required. AR Rahman will be composing the music for this movie but the rest of the cast and crew have not been announced yet. Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was reported to be playing a role in this movie.

Thalaivan Irukkindran will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions who were also set to finance Imsai Arasan 24aam Pulikecei. When we checked with our sources close to the production house, they stated that as Thalaivan Irukkindran is a joint production between them and Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, the latter is handling the finer details of the casting and could be in talks with Vadivelu but that Lyca Productions was not aware of any such developments yet.
