Padma Shri Mani Ratnam tasted massive success last year with his multi-starrer, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, starring STR, ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Dayana Erappa, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, among others in leading roles with chartbuster music by A. R. Rahman.

Post CCV’s triumph at the box office, the six-time National Award-winner, Mani Ratnam is at present laying the groundwork for his film adaptation of acclaimed Tamil author Kalki's, Ponniyin Selvan, which too is set to include a gigantic multi-star cast with several top stars' names already floating around as being attached to the hyped-up project.

Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam is all set to produce his next film titled Vaanam Kottatum under his Madras Talkies banner with Vikram Prabhu and Aishwarya Rajesh as the lead stars, which will be directed by Padai Veeran fame, Dhana Sekaran.

Filming on Vaanam Kottatum is expected to kick-off from July in locations across Chennai and Madurai with the husband and wife duo, Sarathkumar and Raadhika Sarathkumar also part of the film’s cast in vital supporting roles.

Furthermore, Vaanam Kottatum is touted to be a double hero subject with composer G. V. Prakash Kumar said to be in talks for the role of the second lead and an official statement is now awaited from the makers regarding his inclusion in the project.
